I am NOT dead. Promise. Volleyball season is in full swing. My teachers assign me millions of homeworks every day. I'm in my school play, and we have very loooong rehersals. And AP History is kicking my butt...

Mystery Dot

I don't know how many of you ever look over there, in the left-most column, at my nifty feedjit.

My feedjit is a little thing that shows which places of the world check my blog on an almost daily basis via red dot. I don't know how. But it does. Pretty nifty.

But last week, a new dot popped up. It's the dot smack-dab in the middle of my feedjit, right off the coast of western Africa. Problem: THAT DOT DOES NOT EXIST!

If you click on the feedjit, you can zoom all the way in on any dot if you want. Not the Mystery Dot. If you try to click it, it goes away. It doesn't show up on my Hits page either. So this could be one of two things:

1. There is a feedjit-attacking Dot on the loose... or...

2. My beloved and nifty feedjit is lying to me.

For now I will be monitoring that pesky Dot. And keeping my eye out for any others that decide to join their friend on MY feedjit...

My Friday night on a Sunday

I have just discovered a new show…. None other than The Office.

I am DEFINITELY gonna add it to my list of "must-watch-these-when-i-need-a-good-laugh-or-just-need-a-joke-that-is-dumber-than-any-that-i-could-ever-think-of pointless shows"…

Some friends and I chilled on the couch, eating pizza, and sippin' the Mountain Dew, while laughing at the dumb humor of the show. No school tomorrow!!!

Enjoying the little things

Meet my little friend.

He is one of those cheap squishy toys your kids beg you for out of one of those quarter dispensers. My good friend Emily got him for me when we were at the grocery store last Sunday. (it was an ice cream run, of course)

So we come back to my house and take him out of his little package. The fun begins! Slapping our friends Daniel, Andrew, and Charlie with him, sticking him to the wall, spinning him around…. You know, playing with it in all the ways those little child-proof toys shouldn't be played with.

Then the fun comes to an abrupt halt. In my excitement, I fling the little guy just a little too hard:

Yeah…. That's the ceiling…

Oops… Who hasn't done that? I wondered to myself why it was so incredibly fun just playin' with the little dude. Then I decided it's because I can still enjoy the little things. When do people stop appreciating silly things like just chilling with some good friends, long weekends, and little squishy, green lizards?

I hope that I can always remember to take a minute and smile at the small things. What about you? What are your little things? This week, try to find the little things to laugh about: a loose quarter on the ground, a smile from a stranger, a cute shirt on sale, or whatever! *little things are always easier to find when you are looking for them!*

Luckily, my little buddy came back down. :o)

Happy Birthday, Mommy!

Today my mommy turns 37…… even though she will never look a day older than 25.

My Mom is absolutely gorgeous, inside and out. She is smart, funny, wise, caring, and takes great care of all of us.

37 reasons why my mom is exactly what I want to be like when I have a family:

1. She loves my Dad endlessly.
   
2. She takes great care of Mikey and I.
   
3. She loves to laugh.-really hard

1. She dresses super cool. (of course she does! –because she's always wearing my clothes!)
   
2. She worships God with her whole heart and seeks his counsel in absolutely everything that she does.
   
3. She puts her hand to something and it is successful. (see why in number 5)
   
4. She is one of the most supportive people I know.
   
5. She encourages me when I need it most.
   
6. She can eat a whole tub of ice cream with me if needed…
   
7. …or a whole pizza.
   
8. She knows how to live in contentment.
   
9. She can take a step that no one else is willing to because she walks in faith…
   
10. …and does it with a beautiful smile.
    
11. She is short enough for me to kiss her on the head. (this makes me feel tall and I like that)

1. She packs my lunch for school every day. (they're really good too. All my friends want my food.)
   
2. She loves to walk through the house singing really really loud.
   
3. She has an iphone… and knows how to use it!
   
4. She has the prettiest eyes in the world. (no really)
   
5. She makes being her daughter easy.

1. She has a devotion by herself every day.

3. She can cry while watching a commercial…

5. She is one of the most giving women I have ever met and would gladly go without if it took care of someone.
   
6. She appreciates the little things in life like a Gerber daisy or a sweet sticky-note on her mirror.
   
7. She doesn't mind it when the joke is on her and can laugh at herself.
   
8. She can start something and finish it without stopping.
   
9. She can put her hands in freakishly hot dish water without getting burnt.
   
10. She can cook.
    
11. She is a beast of an athlete and can throw a ball farther than half of my guy friends. (and I don't have weenie guy friends)
    
12. She likes rock music!!! And she likes it LOUD!!!
    
13. She looks pretty no matter what she wears or if her hair is straight or curly.
    
14. She loves me even when I make it hard to do so.
    
15. She knows how to spend money wisely and get the most for what she is spending.

18. She genuinely cares about people.

If Bible verses could have physical attributes, then Proverbs 31:30 would have brown hair, beautiful blue eyes, would be a striking 5'4", and have the world's best smile, because this verse describes my mom perfectly.

When I was a little girl, I wanted what every little girl wants: to grow up to be just like my Mommy. Now that I am 16 and still growing up, I want more than ever to be the kind of woman of virtue that she is. She is an amazing example of a loving wife, a caring mother, and a devoted Christian.

Mom- Not only do I love you, but I like you too. Which is really cool, because while everyone loves their mother, not many teenage girls can say that they really like their mom. Well, I like you.

Happy Birthday, Mommy! Thank you for being the example that every girl needs to become a pure young lady, and then a godly woman… This day is all about you! I love you!
