Adonde fue mi poco de punto?

I think that's Spanish for something like: "where's my little dot?"

At some point during my absence from the blog world, my mystery dot mysteriously dissapeared! (if you don't know what I'm talking about, scroll down to my entry about the mystery dot.)

I think I almost miss the little guy..... NOT!

Oops?

So I ask myself:

Is this an honest mistake? –or a violent assault against all known fashion laws, resulting in the humiliation of his daughter?

That's right folks, that jean-clad leg wearing the black shoe….. it's my dad's. That's right folks, that sock you see, it is (very much) navy blue. And that's right folks, I noticed this as he walked in the door after he preached a full sermon…. Onstage….. with people at eye-level with his feet.

Tonight Daddy went to church un-escorted by my mom and me… As you can see.

I guess Dad is doing okay if the biggest grievance I have against him, at the moment, is his ability to subtly leave the house wearing black shoes and blue socks….. We'll work on it.

Guard Your Heart

Tonight at youth, Pastor Mark (!!!) tore it up! He spoke about guarding your heart.

Here's what I learned:

Proverbs 4:23- Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.

I am responsible for what I think about.

Thoughts produce actions. Actions produce habits. Habits produce character. Character produces destiny.

• What I see affects my heart- it affects who I am.
• What I hear affects my heart- it affects who I am.
• What I say affects my heart- it affects who I am. (Luke 6:45)
• What I do affects my heart- it affects who I am. (James 1:22-25)(John 10:10)

How do I guard my heart from the influences of the world?

1. Read the INSTRUCTIONS. (the Bible)(Psalm 119:11)
2. Spend time with GOD. (James 4:8)
3. Run with people that are running the SAME WAY as me… (1 Timothy 2:22)(Psalm 51:10)

So what about you? How are you guarding your heart? Are you happy with who you are right now? With how people see you? Do you need to evaluate the things that influence your life?
